.... Okay, we picked this one for submission tonight and now I'm kinda regretting it. Looking at it closer than a thumbnail can see a lot of problems with the lineart. Like, a LOT.
Eh, whatever, got paid for it, and Annakatan liked it enough to order a sequel, so it's fine, I guess. It's weird since my favorite part of this was drawing Imouto. She's always really cute and love getting to work with her. ^^ Hell, even Haruhi has kind of a neat design. Kyonko I was never too fond of. I dunno, Kyon's design always seemed subtly weird to me. It's like he's generic but not really. Also, I just realized this while typing, but Kyon looks WAY friggin' older than everyone else in the group. Like, Kyon looks like he's in his late twenties. Haruhi should be using him to get into bars.
Okay, that went off on a weird tangent. Whatever, one of the many, MANY commissions we've got sitting finished but unsubmitted. Plenty more where this came from. And we just finished off all our currently-pending commission orders so if anyone wants to commission something now's a really, really good time. We're totally free.
Martin's Comments: Really most of the Haruhi designs are kind of that, "Generic, but not," sort of look. You change some little things around on most of them they'd probably be unrecognizable as the same character, though in Yuki's case that might only be because it'd make you start wondering if it's a knockoff of her or of Rei. Which gets weird when she herself is a quasi-parody sort of thing of Rei down to having a pun on her name.
In either case, yeah. Timely on posting this given we just wrapped up a couple of sequels, both of which I think came out nicer than this one did. Helps we've been taking certain steps toward fleshing out the art lately that haven't really shown up on the DA page yet.
