Young Justice Revival

Description

Ah, yes. I'm only of those comic fans who misses the "good ol' days" of Young Justice. For those not geeky enough to know, Young Justice was a superhero team made up of teen heros, founded during a time when the Teen Titans for some reason was being made up of twenty-somethings. Young Justice's most iconic members were Impulse, Superboy, Robin, and Wonder Girl.

The book was very lighthearted and soft, and while it did have plenty of intense fight scenes and conflicts, most of it was tempered by humor and fun. Had a good run for a while, but sadly it had to end. Supposedly DC Vice-President Dan Didio didn't care for it and canceled it in spite of fair sales. The same cast was put into the Teen Titans when Young Justice was disbanded, but the change of teams required a change of attitude on the part of the characters. They all wound up being Darker and Edgier, and spent less time having fun and acting like kids to angsting over things that previously had never bothered them. I'm not gonna go into character-specific problems, since I don't want to bitch too much.

Point is, I did a picture with them being turned into preteens and, unable to call themselves Teen Titans anymore, they go back to being Young Justice. And of course pampered because that's my thing.

Lesse now... Bart Allen... Naturally wound up the youngest as he was the joker of both groups. I tried to blend his Impulse costume with his Kid Flash costume, since he had one identity in YOung Justice and one in the Titans. The reader can choose which he is, although :iconlizuka:'s colors favored Kid Flash because, admittedly, it looks better that way. Superboy's only part I can talk about would be his hair- had to make it up myself since I didn't like his hairstyle in either Young Justice (gel-up-the-yazoo) or Teen Titans (Buzzcut). On the subject of hair, Martin had the idea to color it dark red rather then outright black, since Superboy is the bastard child of Lex Luthor (former redhead) and Superman (black hair), which is admittedly one of the cool ideas they had for the YJ-TT switchover. Oh, and they both died and came back recently, which is what they're talking about.

For Cassie and Tim... Cassie naturally got stuck in the Wonder Tot costume on the basis that I love that costume's cuteness. Martin said he liked the costume she had as a Titan though, so he tried to give her some of those colors to it. As for Tim Drake, Robin, he's been the most derailed out of everyone- people he knows and loves keep dying and he's just about drowning in angst by this point, hence the comment. The way the diaper fits in is more like how Dick Grayson wouldn't wear pants with his original costume, which I thought was nice. The way the cape is cut to look like bird feathers I just threw in 'cause that's how he wears it now and it looks neat.

But yeah. Sorry about the long-ass comments once again, but I don't think many people even read them now. And who can blame them? :iconlizuka: did the colors as usual, and to great effect. Hope ya enjoy! ^^

Have a part two planned for this with a few characters I actually liked from the Teen Titans book, but we'll see if I do it.
