Yeah, long weird relationship with us and Korra. Long story short; we loved the first season, hated the second, third was okay, fourth was crummy. Show was really up and down and very bland to us for the most part.
One episode we did love was the bit with Korra regressing (Iroh!), which surely everyone in this community is a fan of. I dunno how this even was suggested as an option but wound up drawing a picture of her and Asami's "honeymoon" to the spirit world, only to find out Korra turns back into a toddler whenever she sets foot there. So... yeah, idea here is that this is what happened immediately after the final episode ended.
Granted, Asami wasn't wearing that dress at the end of the episode. The explanation on that is "Fuckit! I wanna draw her in that dress!" The explanation for why neither of them have shoes is "Uhhh... Smfin frrigg Spirit World somethingsomething."
Martin's Comments: My outlook was slightly different - like the first a lot, hate the second, watched the premiere of the third and didn't really give a shit about it, turned it off midway through for Gravity Falls and never watched the show again.
But yeah, pretty much we just randomly got in the mood to try something with these two and this is the idea we wound up settling on. Can't say as though I'm really into the ship, except in finding a certain level of humor in them saying, "Fuck that guy, let's just be with each other!" in regards to what a terrible asshole of a person Mako is. Maybe it works better in context, I dunno, but I don't see it.
Then again Asami is kind of in this weird place for me where I hated her in the first season, and in the second she won me over by being one of the very few characters - her and Tenzin were about it really - who wasn't acting like an asshole or an idiot for the entire season. And Mako making out with Korra right in front of her earned her a lot of sympathy for me.
